Job descriptionKey Responsibilities : Patient Engagement : Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the office. Verify and update patient information, including demographics and insurance details. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner. Insurance Verification : Conduct pre-authorization and verification of insurance benefits prior to patient appointments. Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary information regarding coverage and eligibility. Ensure that all insurance information is accurately documented in patient records. Administrative Support : Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar effectively. Prepare and maintain patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with billing processes, including the submission of claims and follow-up on unpaid claims. Collaboration : Work closely with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow and address any patient concerns. Assist with any other clerical duties as needed to support the front office operations. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification preferred. Proven experience in a front office or medical assistant role, particularly in insurance verification. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
