Compensation
$200,000 to $280,000 / yr Base Salary + RSUs
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including GL, AP / AR, payroll, revenue recognition, cost accounting, and month-end close.
- Establish and refine internal financial controls, accounting policies, and compliance processes.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy across all financial reporting.
Reporting & Audit
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Lead annual audits, support board-level reporting, and maintain audit-ready documentation.Manage 409A valuations, compliance requirements, and interactions with external auditors.Partner with FP&A, Operations, and Engineering teams to support forecasting, budgeting, and cost visibility.Improve insights into program-level financial performance and underlying cost drivers.Systems & Process Improvement
Maintain and enhance accounting systems (ERP, cost accounting tools, project accounting modules).Develop scalable frameworks for inventory management, R&D capitalization, and long-term contract accounting.Support financial planning and operational decision-making through accurate, timely reporting.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.Strong command of GAAP, financial controls, and audit processes.Experience in complex, project-based, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or advanced-technology environments.U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (due to regulatory requirements).Hands‑on, detail‑oriented approach suitable for a lean finance function.Preferred
CPA or equivalent certification.Experience with government cost accounting (FAR / DFARS), program accounting, or aerospace / space hardware production.Background in multi‑entity consolidations, revenue recognition for complex contracts, or inventory / cost accounting.ERP implementation or optimization experience (NetSuite, Costpoint, SAP, or similar).Who Will Succeed in This Role
