Experienced Insurance Defense Attorney – Commercial Auto/Fleet Trucking Liability We are seeking a seasoned Defense Civil Litigator Attorney with expertise in NewYork Labor Law and a strong background in commercial auto and trucking liability defense. The role involves handling high‑exposure accident litigation for fleet owners, trucking companies, and insurers across NewYork state courts. Location & Work arrangement Located in the NewYork City metropolitan area. Hybrid/Remote option is available for candidates residing close to NewYork City. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary ranging from $125,000 to $200,000 per year, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities Defend fleet operators, trucking companies, and insurers in complex commercial auto/trucking liability cases with accident exposure. Litigate NewYork Labor Law cases from inception through trial and appeal. Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, and conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Provide strategic analysis and coverage opinions on liability policies, reservations of rights, disclaimers, and declaratory judgment actions. Engage in tactical negotiation and settlement processes to minimize exposure for clients. Collaborate with a team of seasoned litigators on high‑value defense matters across multiple practice areas. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice in NewYork (NewJersey admission a plus). 5+ years of experience as a civil litigator, with significant commercial auto/trucking liability defense work. Substantial NewYork Labor Law litigation experience (construction‑related personal injury defense). Demonstrated insurance defense expertise, including declaratory judgment litigation and coverage opinion drafting. Courtroom and trial experience strongly preferred. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to craft persuasive arguments. Excellent organizational skills, capability to manage deadlines and billing requirements.
