Supervise and schedule the security team, including officers, patrol staff, and access control personnel—ensure staffing coverage across all shifts including nights, weekends and major events.
Conduct regular patrols of the property (public areas, back-of-house, loading docks, parking garage, event/convention spaces) to identify security risks, safety hazards, or policy violations.
Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents (physical safety, theft, disturbance, fire alarm, medical emergency) and investigate reports, prepare incident reports, escalate as needed, and recommend corrective action.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws, and Hyatt brand security standards. Maintain records of incidents, access logs and ensure audit readiness.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire department, and first responder agencies when needed; serve as hotel liaison in investigations or major incident responses.
Oversee and enforce key control, CCTV/surveillance systems, electronic access systems, and panic/duress alarms. Ensure all systems are functional and correctly monitored.
Develop, train and coach security staff on standard operating procedures, emergency response protocols (evacuation, lockdown, active-shooter, natural disaster), crowd management, guest relations, and Hyatt service expectations.
Support high-profile guest visits, conventions, and events by conducting risk assessments, deploying security staffing plans, and coordinating with event/banquet services.
Manage and support loss prevention initiatives: review incident patterns (e.g., theft, fraud, shrinkage), make recommendations for operational improvements, and assist with investigations and disciplinary processes.
Prepare daily/weekly security reports for senior leadership, including incident log summaries, risk assessments, staffing status, system/facility status, and training updates.
Actively contribute to the hotel’s safety culture—lead & participate in safety committees, conduct safety audits, collaborate with engineering and facilities teams to address hazards and security vulnerabilities
