Summary of Position :
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our warehousing and shipping & receiving departments. This includes coordination of inventory movement throughout the facility, full-spectrum management of shipping & receiving personnel, and departmental oversight of quality control standards. Simultaneously, the Warehouse Manager serves as a functional advisor to the General Manager concerning continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include :
- Management of approximately 10 material handlers and shipping & receiving clerks.
- Organizes and enforces standard operation procedures, training requirements, and certification compliance.
- Provides management and leadership that guides employees in the performance of their duties and responsibilities including tutelage governing safety, volume, cost, quality, and time.
- Monitors daily loading and unloading of shipping containers.
- Maintains accuracy of inventory count and location, conducts inventory audits, and investigates inventory damage and / or irregularities.
- Drives continuous process improvement activities to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Coordinates maintenance requisitions for repair of equipment, machine parts, and supplies by working and interacting with plant maintenance technicians and contracted vendors.
- Creates priority of work schedules while considering asset utilization, manpower allocation, product requirements, customer demand, late containers, and detention and demurrage fees.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations, provides feedback, and identifies both departmental and individual training and development needs.
- Adjusts employee schedules to incorporate overtime as required to meet volumes.
- Works interdependently with the supply chain and sales department to manage volume demand.
- Ensures all established policies, safety rules, and operating procedures are communicated, trained on, understood, and followed.
- Works closely with the Human Resources Manager to be actively involved in the hiring process for department employees, implementation of sponsorship programs, employee disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
- Maintains adherence to good housekeeping practices throughout the production facility.
- Fosters an environment of safety, accountability, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility.
- Conducts daily, weekly, and / or monthly meetings to review safety, quality, delivery, cost, and other topics as appropriate.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements / Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent plus 7 or more years' experience managing teams in a warehousing and / or manufacturing setting with a track record of leading forklift operators, maintenance technicians, and / or logistics personnel or;Associate degree plus 5 - 6 years' experience managing teams in a warehousing and / or manufacturing setting with a track record of leading forklift operators, maintenance technicians, and / or logistics personnel or;Bachelor's degree plus 3 - 4 years' experience managing teams in a warehousing and / or manufacturing setting with a track record of leading forklift operators, maintenance technicians, and / or logistics personnel.Proven ability to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity in a similar environment.Familiarity with light industrial / warehousing equipment including overseeing maintenance schedules and troubleshooting downtime issues.Experience scheduling, training, and motivating a diverse workforce comprised of 5+ employees, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering a collaborative team culture.Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.In-depth understanding of OSHA standards and other relevant regulations, with experience implementing safety programs in an industrial facility.Ability to oversee material handling, inventory management, and coordination with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production workflows.Competency in managing operational budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation while maintaining quality standards.Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite required (particularly Outlook and Excel).Ability to become proficient with proprietary software in a prescribed period of time.Working Hours :
1st shift runs from 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM (8-Hours) Monday - Friday.2nd shift runs from 2 : 00 PM to 10 : 00 PM (8-Hours) Monday – Friday.Flexibility and overtime will periodically be required to meet operational needs; therefore, weekends may be required as needed.This vacancy announcement is for a 2nd shift position. However, some initial training may be conducted during 1st shift hours.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).Standing and walking for extended periods.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.Comfortable shifting between working in a climate-controlled office setting and environment with large temperature swings.Company Overview :
