Position Overview

This position is accountable for the coordination of the Information Technology (IT) current databases used by Project Implementation and assisting in the coordination of the training for the Bureau of Project Implementation personnel. This position is also responsible for assisting with the bureau’s budget, commodities and equipment management.

Essential Functions

Administers the district’s construction management support system.

Determine the needs for computer software and hardware within the bureau.

Receives new computers and tests them before distribution to office and field personnel.

Trains employees how to use the personal computers (PC) and the current construction management system and troubleshoots in-use computers.

Assist in the development and administration of the bureau’s budget.

Prepares requisitions, maintains records of expenditures, and keeps inventory of all equipment and vehicles.

Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, PLUS five years of engineering experience; OR seven years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of the Department’s Construction Materials Management System (CMMS).

Working knowledge of the use of electronic online storage databases such as SharePoint.

Working knowledge of the current engineering and surveying equipment utilized in the design, construction, and maintenance of transportation projects.

Conditions of Employment

Valid driver’s license.

Districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel with limited overnight travel.

Overtime.

Successful completion of a background check.
