Job Summary :
The Office Assistant is the first point of contact for patients at our physical therapy clinic. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, handling administrative tasks, managing patient flow, and ensuring efficient front desk operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- This position is great for those, especially students, interested in a health care career, as you will get experience learning the operation side of health care.
Key Responsibilities :
Greet patients warmly and check them in and out for appointmentsAnswer multi-line phones and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely mannerSchedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments as neededVerify insurance benefits and obtain necessary authorizations or referralsCollect patient co-pays, balances, and manage daily cash reconciliationInput and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical records (EMR) systemCommunicate with therapists and clinical staff to manage patient flow efficientlyMaintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting areaHandle incoming and outgoing mail and faxesAssist with billing, claims follow-up, and other administrative duties as assignedQualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)12 years of medical office or front desk experience (experience in a physical therapy or rehab setting is a plus)Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionPositive attitude and team-oriented mindsetComfortable working in a clinical environmentHours :
