Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable (AP)
Job Description
As an Accounting Clerk Accounts Payable (AP) at Commercial Mechanical (CMSS), you will play a key role in supporting the Accounting Department by managing vendor invoices, payments, and related documentation. This position ensures that all payables are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. You will provide essential clerical and administrative support that helps keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor and manage the AP inbox daily
- Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and vendor correspondence
- Complete vendor forms and credit applications as needed
- Assist in preparing and distributing tax-exempt certificates
- Track and verify field and corporate credit card receipts and documentation
- Support month-end closing processes and reporting needs
- Respond to vendor inquiries and provide payment status updates
- File and organize AP documentation for offsite storage according to retention policy
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the accounting department as assigned
Qualifications
