Our client, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all EHS initiatives across its operations. In this role, youll be responsible for developing and implementing programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and maintain a strong culture of safety across the organizations manufacturing and warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives across the site, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards
- Develop, implement, and manage safety programs and policies to minimize risk and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Oversee investigations of incidents, near-misses, and hazardous conditions, ensuring corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Coordinate emergency response planning, training programs, and regular safety drills
- Chair Safety Committee meetings and drive communication and accountability across departments
- Support annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning for EHS-related projects
- Maintain documentation, reporting, and audit readiness for internal and external reviews
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelors degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field710 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment, ideally within a GMP or regulated settingStrong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulationsProven ability to lead safety initiatives, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHS data management or risk assessment toolsThis position is based on-site in Meriden, CT, with periodic flexibility to work remotely as projects allow.
