Senior Payroll Operations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Payroll Operations Manager to lead and inspire our Payroll Shared Services team. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations and payroll tax functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple entities. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize processes, and deliver exceptional service to internal stakeholders.
This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills to manage day-to-day operations while guiding the team through system transitions and process enhancements.

Our Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes critical business processes to streamline operations, reduce costs, and deliver consistent quality. By consolidating functions such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC eliminates duplication, frees time for strategic priorities, and fosters efficiency.
Key SSC functions include :
- O2C (Order-to-Cash) : Managing the customer journey from order to payment.
- R2R (Record-to-Report) : Driving robust financial reporting and accounting.
- P2P (Procure-to-Pay) : Managing vendor payments and travel & expense programs.
- Center of Excellence : Leading innovation and continuous improvement.
- Payroll (Hire-to-Retire) : Ensuring accurate, compliant employee payments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the payroll operations and tax teams, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery for 54 operating entities.Driving transition, including testing and deployment of new systems.Partner with HR, Benefits, and business units to evaluate and improve payroll processes.Maintain payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and operational stability.Monitor performance against KPIs and SLAs, using analytics to identify improvement opportunities.Stay current on payroll regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance.Implement process enhancements to optimize payroll efficiency and elevate employee experience.Provide training and development for payroll staff on systems, compliance, and customer service.Resolve employee inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of service.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR, or related field preferred.510 years of payroll management experience in a large, multi-entity, multi-state environment.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred.Expertise in payroll principles, compliance, and tax regulations.Proficiency with payroll systems (SAP, ADP, Workforce, Viewpoint, or similar).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Proven ability to lead teams, manage deadlines, and drive continuous improvement.Advanced PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with mainframe payroll applications.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
