Revenue Accountant
The Revenue Accountant plays a critical role in Revenue : ownership of assigned areas in our global Direct-to-Consumer business with gross revenues greater than $1 billion. This role works cross functionally with various departments and will evolve over time with growth and critical acquisitions. You want to be part of all core processes of monthly and quarterly revenue close. You're interested in working for a fast-moving, private-equity owned company in a role that covers a variety of work functions involving new challenges. Your desire for mentorship and ability to grow, learn, and evolve will be key to your success in this role. This is a hybrid position located in Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 4 10 days per month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to this location and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
About the role :
Serve as member of the global Revenue Accounting team to execute timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close activities in alignment with the closing calendar
Prepare journal entries, perform detailed Balance Sheet reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies across multiple entities
Complete and analyze monthly flux analyses, providing the explanation of key drivers causing period-over-period variances
Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization (sales, finance, operations) to develop, document, and maintain scalable processes to support growth and end-to-end efficiency
Support testing activities related to system implementations and process changes impacting global revenue and accounting systems
Work with both internal and external auditors related to the financial statement audit and control reviews
Perform appropriate testing of internal controls and contribute to continuous improvement of the control environment
Communicate in a professional, precise, and clear manner (both written and verbal)
Partake in special projects and complete ad hoc tasks
Multi-task in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to do what it takes to complete a task and demonstrate ownership of areas of responsibility
About you :
2+ years (we'd love more!) of corporate accounting experience, public accounting, industry, or combination
Working knowledge of US GAAP and operational accounting, including revenue recognition (ASC 606 familiarity, experience with software clients and / or industry experience with software revenue recognition is a plus)
Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks, meet strict reporting deadlines, and work autonomously with little oversight
Excellent Excel proficiency; must be able to manipulate large amounts of data using pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.
Hands-on experience with SAP, Workday, or similar ERP systems
Comfortable working within a lean team that is close-knit and highly functional
Solid interpersonal skills; can build effective relationships across cross-functional teams
