A busy firm in the West Caldwell area is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their growing company. This Collections Specialist will manage accounts receivable processes by working closely with attorneys, clients, and finance staff to ensure timely payments and resolve outstanding debts. The ideal Collections Specialist will have prior experience out of the legal industry, professional services, or something close and have experience with a relevant system such as 3E, Aderant, etc. This Collections Specialist position requires strong communication, high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Collections Specialist Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to address tasks and assignments effectively.
- Assist clients with billing inquiries and provide clear explanations.
- Support assigned partners with collections activities and strategies.
- Follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare detailed reports for clients and partners related to accounts receivable.
- Generate and distribute monthly reminder statements to clients.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts receivable records and files.
- Coordinate with accounting staff to manage cash applications, resolve duplicate payments, and utilize funds held in trust.
- Record all communications and updates in the document management system.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections, preferably out of legal industry / law firm.Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or something similar is a plus.Proficiency in financial systems such as 3E, Aderant, etc.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
