Manager Of Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
The Manager Of Internal Communications & Employee Engagement drives clarity, connection, and culture across Topstep. This role ensures that employeesacross all entitiesunderstand the company's priorities, feel informed, and are inspired to engage through consistent, transparent, and creative communication. We're looking for someone who brings people and stories to lifewho can turn strategy into connection and make every employee feel part of something bigger. Internal Communications & Storytelling
- Drive clarity, connection, and consistency across every internal message at Topstep.
- Lead Topstep's internal communications strategy across all channels and audiencesensuring messages are clear, aligned, and purpose-driven.
- Write, edit, and produce compelling content that informs, inspires, and builds trustfrom leadership updates and People announcements to all-hands moments and business storytelling.
- Develop and manage communication frameworks for org updates, company priorities, and key initiatives.
- Own and optimize Topstep's internal channels (Slack, Notion, Workvivo, Intranet)creating tone guidelines, governance models, and best-practice playbooks.
- Maintain a consistent internal narrative that reflects our values, amplifies our goals, and strengthens our culture.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Design and lead engagement campaigns, recognition programs, and storytelling initiatives that bring our culture to life.Collaborate with the People, Marketing, and Leadership teams to showcase voices, wins, and stories from across the organizationserving as a bridge between leadership vision and the employee experience.Launch and sustain a central hub for recognition, engagement, and connectionthe home base for Topstep culture.Use data and insights from pulse surveys, participation rates, and feedback loops to continuously improve how we communicate and connect.Champion Topstep's values in every message and experience, ensuring everyone feels informed, valued, and proud to be part of our story.Events & Connection
Plan and execute company-wide eventsboth virtual and in-personthat celebrate our people and deepen connection (e.g., Culture Club events, Leadership Summits, "Let's Get Together" sessions, milestone celebrations).Collaborate across teams to align event themes with business priorities and cultural initiatives.Create and manage an annual calendar of connectionintegrating communications, events, and engagement moments around key company milestones.Required Qualifications And Key Competencies
5+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or culture-focused rolesideally in a dynamic or fast-growing organization.Proven ability to craft clear, compelling, and authentic communications across multiple channels (Slack, intranet, newsletters, town halls, etc.).Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skillswith a knack for turning complex topics into messages people want to read.Experience managing or partnering on employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, or culture campaigns.Demonstrated success in planning and executing company-wide events (virtual and in-person) that build connection and community.Proficiency with modern collaboration tools (Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, Workvivo, Paylocity, or similar).Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.Comfort working in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with senior leadership, People, Marketing, and Product teams.Experience measuring communication effectiveness and using data to improve engagement and clarity.Preferred Skills
Experience implementing or managing Workvivo, Notion, or similar internal communication / engagement platforms.
Background in change management communications or supporting organizational transformation initiatives.Strong grasp of employer branding and the connection between internal and external storytelling.Experience producing or managing internal newsletters, podcasts, videos, or live town halls.Familiarity with survey tools and translating engagement data into action.Understanding of design and brand alignmentcan collaborate with creative teams to make internal content visually engaging.Comfortable crafting executive messaging, speechwriting, or leadership communications.Prior experience in People Operations, HR, or Marketing within a high-growth or tech-oriented organization.Knowledge of crisis communication protocols and ability to maintain calm, clear messaging during incidents.Passion for fostering connection, transparency, and belonging in remote or hybrid teams.Company Culture & Perks
