The focus of this role is strengthening the Multibrand presence of Chicago Pneumatic (CP) and American Pneumatic Tools (APT) by identifying and establishing dealers in underrepresented markets, ensuring broader coverage and deeper channel impact across North America. The Business Development Manager is strategic and forward-thinking with a long-term vision for delivering an unbeatable customer experience through dealer growth, engagement, and brand penetration.
Responsibilities
- Dealer Network Strategies
Identify and onboard new dealers aligned with CP and APT brand positioning.
Evaluate market coverage and implement representation actions to strengthen channel performance.In conjuction with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), develop territory plans that balance brand differentiation with shared channel efficiencies.Design and implement business strategies based on full market potential analysis, supporting RSMs in identifying and developing growth opportunities.Performance OptimizationAnalyze dealer financials and sales performance to guide improvement plans.
Ensure alignment with brand standards, customer experience goals, and strategic pricing.Support commercial and pricing strategy in coordination with Regional Sales Managers, Director of Sales, and the Vice President / Business Line Manager.Provide regular reporting on performance, competitive activity, pricing trends, and improvement opportunities.Internal & External CollaborationPartner with Sales, Finance, and Marketing to align dealer development with broader business goals.
Build strong professional relationships across all levels of dealer and distributor organizations to foster loyalty and customer intimacy.Work closely with relevant professional associations across North America to build strategic networks.Create and facilitate CP and APT dealer advisory councils to strengthen engagement, gather feedback, and align strategic priorities.Qualifications
To succeed, you will need at least five (5) years of experience in dealer / channel development, preferably in industrial tools or capital equipment. A four (4)-year bachelor's degree in business marketing, or related field will be beneficial, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
