Global Manager For Logistics EHS
The Global Manager for Logistics EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) plays a crucial role in driving a culture of safety and operational excellence within GE Vernova's logistics operations. This position requires a proactive leader who embodies commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire a culture of accountability, and leverage data-driven insights to implement strategic initiatives that mitigate risks and enhance safety performance. As a Global Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of safety incidents, analyzing data to identify root causes, and implementing effective preventative measures. You will collaborate with diverse teams across the organization to share lessons learned and promote best practices, ensuring that safety is integrated into all aspects of logistics operations. Through the application of Lean methodology, you will focus on identifying and addressing key safety challenges, fostering an environment of open communication and shared responsibility. You will also lead efforts to standardize training programs, reinforcing critical safety protocols across regional and functional teams. Your leadership will guide the development and improvement of safety documentation and auditing processes, ensuring adherence to the highest standards. By qualifying and managing provider relationships based on performance and compliance, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe supply chain.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all safety incidents and near-misses into the system of record within 48 hours of notification.
- Lead root cause analyses, corrective action planning, and implementation of preventative measures to eliminate recurrence.
- Share applicable lessons learned across GE Vernova organizations.
- Design, standardize, and deliver comprehensive Logistics EHS training across all regional and functional teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory and company standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to regional and functional teams to prevent repeatable incidents and near misses.
- Coordinate and manage EHS training schedules and compliance through the Electronic Learning Management System (LMS).
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify, analyze, and address cross-portfolio safety opportunities.
- Lead safety culture initiatives, including Gemba walks, safety observations, and employee engagement campaigns to promote ownership and continuous improvement.
- Develop, update and maintain EHS documentation to improve safety documentation in partnership with Quality and Operations teams.
- Conduct monthly safety audits of internal operations and providers ensuring adherence to internal and external standards.
- Establish and enforce robust EHS qualification criteria for logistics providers, including safety documentation review and performance monitoring.
- Qualify or disqualify providers based on safety standards and documentation review.
- Review loading, lashing, and rigging practices with internal teams (Ex. Packaging and Engineering Organization).
- Conduct bi-weekly reviews and monthly Safety & Quality Reviews of open incidents with Logistics Operations.
- Lead monthly Safety & Quality Reviews for Logistics Leadership.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports, metrics, and improvement plans to senior management.
- Coordinate and schedule training for logistics teams using the Electronic Learning platform.
- Partner with various departments, including Logistics Sourcing, Quality, and 3PL / Project Managers, to address safety and quality issues.
- Represent the logistics EHS function in cross-business forums and external regulatory engagements as required.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in the safety domain, including heavy haul and out-of-gauge movements.Working knowledge of OSHA, IMDG, IATA, ADR, US DOT Hazmat / Dangerous Goods regulations.Familiarity with cranes, rigging, lifting drawings, and transportation permitting requirements.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a global environment.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and digital EHS tools.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EHS management software, and data analytics platforms.Experience in a multinational, matrixed organization.Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
