Summary :
We are representing a reputable general engineering contractor seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join their team. With over three decades of success delivering complex and high-profile commercial and municipal projects, this company is known as a trusted utility subcontractor across Southern California. The Project Engineer will support operations throughout all phases of construction, managing project documentation, procurement, reporting, and communication to ensure smooth execution and overall success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review project contracts, drawings, and specifications to identify and communicate potential conflicts
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and project logs to ensure compliance and timely updates
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain shop drawings and verify materials meet project requirements
- Research alternate materials and substitutions to enhance value and mitigate supply constraints
- Assist with permit applications, change order documentation, and cost tracking
- Support field operations by facilitating communication between office, superintendent, and foremen
- Collect and analyze field data to monitor productivity and performance
- Participate in project cost reviews, estimating turnover meetings, and safety planning
- Prepare project-specific plans, including spill prevention, shutdown / tie-in, and lift plans
- Maintain strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork throughout all project activities
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred2+ years of experience in project engineering or construction support roleProficient in Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10, and BluebeamExcellent communication, organizational, and time-management skillsStrong attention to detail with ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated, disciplined, and team-orientedCompensation + Benefits :
