Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to join our team as an Assistant Front Office Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead front office activities of the hotel and proactively look for opportunities to create memorable experiences for guests.
- Drive excellent guest service results and assist guests with aspects of their stay, reservation and room assignment activities, including various requests and inquiries.
- Ensure team members are provided training, support and tools to take care of our guests.
- Focus on maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees, and exceeding guest expectations.
- Schedule guest services front desk representatives, night audit staff and breakfast attendants (as applicable).
- Fulfill shifts as Manager on Duty as assigned and maintain staffing levels.
- Lead the Guest Services team with a hands-on approach and ensure coverage in other hotel areas as needed.
- Review schedules, identify issues, and conduct guest services meetings to inform staff.
- Maintain familiarity with the hotel computer system for training, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Complete daily credit checks and adhere to Front Office systems and controls.
- Promote knowledge of Marketing Programs and train Front Office staff on Company and Brand standards.
- Recruit, manage, and train Front Office Team; train staff on rewards programs and requirements.
- Maximize room occupancy at best rates and establish consistent Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure staff compliance with Company Appearance and Grooming standards and proper uniformity.
- Assign duties and shifts, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
- Review guest experience scores and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Respond to guest inquiries, complaints and special requests; create a positive work environment that motivates staff.
- Manage corporate accounts and be prepared to assume duties of Front Desk Clerk or other positions as needed.
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health / safety regulations and legislation.
- Oversee smooth operation of breakfast service (as applicable).
Qualifications
Customer service oriented with the ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.Previous experience as a front desk, guest service supervisor or manager preferred.Strong leadership and organizational skills; excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).Familiarity with Microsoft Office and operation of typical office equipment.Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays with the ability to work without constant supervision.Ability to work desk shifts as needed.High school education required; some college preferred. Minimum one year in a hotel management role.Ability to lead a team and operate personal computers and property-specific applications.English fluency; additional languages are a plus.Benefits
