Apply now\! **Location:** 3900 East Bristol Street \- Elkhart, Indiana 46514 **Position Summary:** This role is responsible for providing courteous customer service in person or by telephone; answers incoming calls to the retail store and directs incoming calls to the appropriate department and assist with guest questions in store\. Also responsible for operating cash register and/or assisting guests with self\-checkouts\. **Here's what you’ll do:** + Provide courteous guest service in person or by telephone; answer incoming calls to the retail store and direct calls to the appropriate department and assist with guest questions in store\. + Perform/process guest services transactions such as credits, over\-rings, refunds, lottery ticket sales, money orders/transfers \(Western Union\), media related purchases, etc\. in accordance with Company policies\. + Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and assist guests with self\-checkouts; handles a variety of products which may include dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef and pork products\. + Process financial transactions including, but not limited to; cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons; and bag customer purchases\. + Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations\. + Understand use of check\-stand equipment \(register, self\-checkouts\) and its efficient operation\. + Comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling \(i\.e\., damaged/spoiled products\), the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, etc\. + Communicate the Company programs \(i\.e\., loyalty program, scans, etc\.\), in\-store specials and coupons to customers, and models high standards of service to achieve a customer oriented store\. + Maintain a clean and well\-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards\. + Notify the department lead or manager of any issues with pricing, cash registers, etc\. + Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines + Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations + Follow Guest Experience Guidelines + May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need + Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed **Here’s what you’ll need:** + High school diploma or GED \(required\) + One year of prior retail or related experience preferred\. + Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers\. + Good customer service and organizational skills; detail\-oriented\. Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required\. **Physical Requirements:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job\.
