Job descriptionMailroom Manager Location: Near Albany, NY (Onsite) Pay Rate: $32 - $40 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Our well-established, high-volume production and mailing client is seeking a hands-on Mailroom Manager to lead daily mailing department activities. This role is responsible for overseeing workflow, supervising staff, and ensuring that all mailing projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This is a leadership role that requires both operational oversight and active involvement on the production floor, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Department Leadership & Team ManagementOversee day-to-day operations of the mailing departmentSupervise and support production staff, including machine operatorsSet clear expectations around quality, productivity, and accountabilityProvide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team membersCoordinate staffing and workload to meet production demands Workflow & Production ManagementPlan, prioritize, and schedule jobs to meet deadlines and maximize efficiencyManage workflow from initial job setup through final mailing distributionEnsure all projects are completed according to specifications and compliance requirementsIdentify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase throughput Equipment & Technical OversightOversee operation and performance of mailing equipment, including inserters and addressing systemsAssist with setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of machineryCoordinate maintenance and repairs with internal teams or external vendorsEnsure proper use of systems including cameras, sensors, and data matching processes Quality Assurance & ComplianceEnsure all mailings meet USPS regulations and internal quality standardsVerify job accuracy, including data integrity, barcode functionality, and piece matchingMaintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance across all projectsResolve mailing, data, or production issues as they arise Operational & Floor SupportMaintain a strong presence on the production floor and lead by exampleAssist with hands-on production tasks when needed to keep operations on trackMonitor performance metrics such as throughput, accuracy, and efficiencySupport continuous improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures QualificationsExperience in mailing operations, print production, or manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of workflow management and process optimizationMechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issuesExperience with inserter systems or mailing equipment preferredFamiliarity with systems such as W+D inserters or Kirk-Rudy equipment is a plusStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume production settingDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy To see a full listing of all our open positions, please visit: https:// redShift Recruiting is the region's premier recruiting agency with over 100 years of combined experience in the recruiting field.
