Senior Financial Analyst, Sponsored Programs (948276) Job Summary This position supports a finance team within Sponsored Programs, requiring a strong understanding of the full award lifecycle and key functions within Clinical Trial Finance, including budgeting, reporting, maintenance, and closeout. The role leverages advanced analytical skills in Excel tools such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, AIE and macros to improve efficiency and enhance financial analysis. Responsibilities include reviewing clinical trial‑related financial data, ensuring accuracy, maintaining strong internal controls, translating data into actionable insights, supporting timely accurate billing and strengthening financial stewardship through analytics, reporting and automation. Responsibilities Complete variety of complex monthly financial management reports; review all reports for errors, analyze variances, develop recommendations, and summarize findings. Prepare and/or supervise preparation of monthly financial reports, schedules for annual financial reports, and reports to government agencies, ensuring conformance with applicable procedures and regulations. Identify areas of poor performance, present findings, and make recommendations to upper management. Prepare financial models and conduct financial analyses. Maintain controls for financial system policies and procedures; develop and maintain delegation of authority for various procedures such as check requests, refunds, invoice approval, bad debt write‑offs. Complete special projects as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or related field. Experience At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in finance and/or accounting, with experience in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
