Job description

We are continuing to build a world‑class, leading‑edge Ethics & Investigations team at Intuit. The team sits under our re‑imagined People Experience team, which is part of our People & Places (HR) organization. Intuit’s Ethics & Investigations team helps champion our Integrity Without Compromise value and Intuit’s safe, ethical, and inclusive culture. We are responsible for developing and continuously improving all elements of our ethics program, including conducting impartial investigations into concerns raised by our employees and others about violations of our Code of Conduct and Ethics and company policies. We conduct investigations across the company and in all geographies. We are also responsible for promoting awareness of our ethics program internally at Intuit as well as building relationships and sharing best practices with the broader workplace investigations community. This role will report to the Director, Ethics & Investigations. What you’ll do: As an investigator, you will work as part of a dynamic team responsible for investigating concerns involving alleged violations of the Intuit Code of Conduct & Ethics and Intuit’s policies. This includes cases of alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, workplace bullying, and reported financial, expense, and compliance matters. You will manage a caseload of multiple investigations, working both autonomously and collaboratively with fellow team members. Additionally, you will work with HR, business leaders and in‑house counsel and will interact with employees at all levels of the company, helping to build trust, understanding and transparency and instill confidence in Intuit’s Ethics & Investigation function. Additionally, you will work as part of cross‑functional project teams, devising and delivering strategic programs to improve Intuit’s support for its employees. Responsibilities Perform complex investigations from intake to completion, including conducting investigative interviews of employees and others, and reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing documents and data collected as part of the investigations. Summarize and organize information and documents as part of our end‑to‑end investigation process and reporting. Make objective and analytically sound investigative findings, and provide recommendations and advice about options for corrective action and broader organizational changes. Draft detailed investigation reports, as well as other documents and correspondence related to the investigations. Effectively interact and communicate with individuals involved in the matter being investigated, managers and the HR teams that support those individuals during the investigation and post‑investigation processes. Prepare executive summaries and provide appropriate updates about investigations to executives and senior leaders. Support and promote continuous improvements to our investigation process. Learn and benchmark from the external environment and others and help evaluate how to respond to changes in our own internal practices. Deeply understand Intuit’s unique culture and values and bring objective empathy to investigations. Support and work on priorities and initiatives for the broader People Experience and People & Places organizations, based on needs and the unique skills you bring. Qualifications 5+ years of experience conducting investigations, preferably at a private or publicly‑traded company; and/or equivalent case‑management, fact‑finding, and analytical experience developed as a lawyer. Preference for individuals who have experience with conducting financial, expense, and/or compliance investigations and handling threat management situations. Strong preference for a practicing lawyer, a background in employment law and/or experience of employee relations, especially candidates with experience working across multiple jurisdictions/countries. Preference for candidates who have formal certification from the Association of Workplace Investigators, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, or other relevant organizations. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with executives, senior leaders, members of management, and employees at all levels of the company and others during investigations. The ability to recognize and put aside personal biases, to see different perspectives, and to conduct investigations in an objective manner. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, especially in complex and nuanced situations. Enthusiasm for working with volumes of data and for identifying trends and patterns. Exceptional writing skills and the ability to consistently produce high‑level written product. Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively and be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and highly organized. A strong personal ethical code and integrity. The experience and confidence to make difficult decisions and to exercise expert judgment when working with disputed issues. Resilience in managing a demanding caseload, balancing shifting priorities, and meeting deadlines. Grace under fire when working in high‑conflict and crisis situations. A deep respect for privacy and confidentiality. Curiosity and a learning mindset; a willingness to engage in continual learning and to contribute to the learning of the team. An enthusiasm for investigations and the important role they play in advancing the mission of the organization. Alignment with Intuit’s values, which requires a strong commitment and accountability to the company and each other and forming connections with team members and others. Ability to travel to other Intuit offices as occasionally needed. Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs. Pay offered is based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender. The expected base pay range for this position is: #J-18808-Ljbffr
