Job description

Senior Or Principal Practice Leader

Do you want to build an impactful career to change the world for the better?

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Practice Leader to join our business in one of our Tennessee offices (Chattanooga, Knoxville, Johnson City, or Nashville); a hybrid work schedule may be available at the Company's discretion. You will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals throughout North Carolina, Tennessee, the U.S. and internationally, and will provide leadership and client development for a wide range of environmental engineering and consulting projects to supplement our existing environmental due diligence, compliance, brownfields redevelopment, vapor intrusion, and remediation services. You will be developing and supporting national and international clients across a wide range of sectors including real estate, manufacturing, legal, and municipal. The successful applicant will enjoy a highly competitive benefits package, opportunities for stock options, profit sharing, continuing education, professional growth and opportunities to lead and mentor.

Geosyntec is an innovative, international engineering and consulting firm serving private and public-sector clients to address new ventures and complex problems involving our environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. Our engineers, scientists, technical and project employees serve our clients from offices across the world. Ranked by ENR as one of the top environmental engineering design firms, Geosyntec is internationally known for its technical leadership, broad experience, and exceptional client service.

We invest in our people. Each employee is unique, and your career at Geosyntec will be too. We offer competitive pay and benefits, and well-being programs to support you and your family.

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.

Some of the key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Managing tasks and projects, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation, budgeting, and adhering to schedule, all the while focusing on quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
  • Leading successful business development efforts, including leading proposal efforts
  • Developing site-specific mitigation, remedial, and closure strategies for challenging and complex projects, including brownfields redevelopments
  • Maintaining client contacts, participating in relevant professional organizations, and attending and presenting at industry events
  • Supervising and mentoring early- and mid-career professionals and managing subcontractors
  • Overseeing the preparation of reports and client deliverables under applicable state and federal regulations and guidance.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders
  • Reviewing and interpretating pending and new regulations and developing strategies for clients
  • At times, the job may also include fieldwork including site visits, oversight of multimedia environmental sampling, and subcontractor oversight.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Your success is our success. We encourage our professionals to continually develop their interests and skills. Advancement is based on an individual's own performance and initiative.
