Job description
Duties
As the Director, the successful candidate:
- Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the Department's nationwide Second Amendment enforcement program.
- Directs complex litigation, enforcement, compliance, policy, and outreach initiatives to advance the Department's mission.
- Establishes enforcement priorities and oversees litigation strategy, including affirmative litigation, statements of interest, amicus briefs, and motions to intervene.
- Leads coordination with DOJ components, federal agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of Second Amendment enforcement.
- Oversees strategic planning, organizational management, budget, workforce, and resource allocation to achieve program objectives.
- Provides executive oversight of the Section's operations, ensuring effective execution of legal and enforcement activities consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and Department priorities.
