Cost Accountant Los Angeles County, CA | Direct Hire | Accounting | Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year Job Responsibilities Manage cost accounting activities by recording standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead while analyzing variances. Prepare and present detailed reports on manufacturing costs, margin, inventory activity, and overall performance trends. Develop and maintain performance metrics to support business decisions and improve operational efficiency. Support audit processes by preparing documentation, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with standards. Collaborate with operations teams and leadership on financial projects, cost analysis, and strategic initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (professional certification considered a plus). Five or more years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial analysis. Proficient in Excel and enterprise systems for data analysis and report preparation. Strong analytical skills and ability to manage projects proactively in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications Analyze cost data, product margins, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Communicate financial insights clearly to stakeholders across operations and finance teams. Build collaborative relationships with cross‑functional partners to support process improvements.
