Child Care Resource Network Quality Improvement Specialist, Infant Toddler JobID: 2334 Position Type: Early Childhood Services – Classified / CCRN Quality Improvement Specialist Date Posted: 6/24/2026 Location: Jackson and Josephine Counties Position Goal Serve as Quality Improvement Specialist (QIS or coach) to child care providers with a focus on infants and toddlers with the purpose of improving provider knowledge and ability to deliver quality care and education program. Coach’s role may include working with individuals or groups to offer technical assistance, training, and resources. Coaches may conduct pre-post assessments of child care environments, teacher-child interactions, or other quality indicators. Coach may work with providers to develop a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to strengthen areas identified in the assessment and to support providers to implement their QIPs. About SOESD Southern Oregon ESD is located in the Rogue Valley, the cultural and economic heart of southern Oregon, home to legendary snow-skiing, white-water rafting, kayaking, hiking, fishing, as well as numerous cultural venues and events such as art galleries, the Britt Music Festivals, the Ashland Independent Film Festival, and the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Duties and Responsibilities Complete all required training from Western Oregon University to qualify as a QIS. Deliver coaching to child care providers with the goal of improving provider knowledge and ability to deliver quality care and education programs, including appropriate environments, activities, and teacher-child interaction, among other areas. Coaching will be on-site and may also be by phone, email, or other means. Deliver coaching services using a variety of strategies proven to be effective with adult learners. Locate and deliver resources and present individual or group training, if appropriate, and ensure that information shared with providers is accurate, research-based, and relevant. Work effectively with providers to develop a QIP and support implementation. Submit all required paperwork accurately and completely. Represent Child Care Resource Network and raise awareness of indicators of quality child care, the importance of early childhood and school readiness, and other critical areas of the field. Comply with ESD rules and policies. Perform physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation. Other duties as assigned. Valid Oregon Driver’s License. Solid working knowledge of child care-related programs and related community resources; child abuse reporting and child care regulations and licensing. Excellent self-management skills and the ability to take initiative, work independently within established guidelines, and with a diverse group of participants and partners. Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer programs and the internet. Knowledge of community resources within the service delivery area. Demonstrated effective communication skills, teamwork, and professionalism. Pass a background check and maintain enrollment in the Child Care Division Criminal History registry. Qualifications Required: Valid Oregon Driver’s License, background check, enrollment in the Child Care Division Criminal History registry. Experience: Solid working knowledge of child care-related programs, child abuse reporting, child care regulations and licensing. Skills: Excellent self-management, initiative, ability to work independently, teamwork, professionalism, proficiency with computer programs. Preferred: Degree in early childhood or related field, experience providing early childhood training, mentoring and coaching experience. Location and Pay Location: In person at SOESD State Street Office, 3132 State St., Medford, OR 97504. Length of Position: 1.0 FTE / 258 days (annual year-round position). Pay: Southern Oregon ESD Classified Hourly Compensation Schedule, $20.56/hour - $24.61/hour for the 2026-2027 school year. Immediate Supervisor: Program Administrator. Benefits (For .50 FTE and Over) Southern Oregon ESD contributes up to $2,185.00 per month (family coverage) for health, dental and vision insurance premiums for qualified employees. Employer-paid PERS (Public Employee Retirement System), including additional 6% individual investment account with PERS. 9 paid holidays.
