Workday Advanced Compensation Professional
The Client is seeking an experienced Workday Advanced Compensation professional to support and deliver project solutions across Workday initiatives. This role primarily focuses on Workday Advanced Compensation, with opportunities to contribute to additional areas such as Core HCM, Performance Management, Benefits, Security, and the implementation and support of Gem. The position emphasizes functional expertise, including requirements gathering, functional design input, testing strategy and execution, data auditing, documentation, and project management in close collaboration with IT. The ideal candidate brings an AI-first mindset, leveraging modern AI tools to enhance efficiency, automate workflows, and improve documentation and testing processes.
Responsibilities
- Support annual Sales Compensation Review (Fall) and Company OPE Compensation Review (Winter) programs in Workday using Advanced Compensation
- Gather and document business requirements for People Technology project requests, including detailed requirements documentation for large-scale initiatives such as Workday OPE
- Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and lead testing efforts, including test case creation, expected outcomes, and timelines
- Participate in the implementation and ongoing HCM support for Gem
- Create and manage project timelines, coordinate team communications, and contribute to training and documentation based on project needs
- Conduct data audits to ensure accuracy and integrity across Workday programs and initiatives
- Leverage AI tools to enhance testing, process reviews, audits, workflow development, and automation of manual processes
- Provide recommendations on prioritization of initiatives based on demand and available resources
- Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to evaluate technology needs, assess system capabilities, and recommend enhancements, including opportunities to adopt AI-driven solutions
- Monitor and manage Jira queues, ensuring timely assignment, resolution, and follow-up on tickets
- Handle small project enhancement requests across Workday functional areas
- Develop and maintain Workday reports as required
- Partner with IT teams to perform root-cause analysis and validate fixes before system releases
Requirements
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- 810+ years of experience in HRIS/HCM environments
- Strong expertise in Workday Advanced Compensation
- Experience across multiple Workday modules, including Performance Management, Core HR, Security, and Reporting
- Experience supporting or implementing systems such as Gem is highly preferred
- Familiarity with ATS or Talent Acquisition tools is acceptable as an alternative to Gem experience
- Exposure to supporting systems such as recognition platforms, Jira, or similar tools is a plus
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Workday Advanced Compensation and related HRIS modules
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in data auditing and reporting
- Expertise in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel for data analysis and validation
- Experience developing and executing UAT strategies, including test case creation and validation
- Strong understanding of requirements gathering and functional documentation processes
- Proficiency in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to automate workflows, generate test scripts, and create or review documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Gem implementation and ongoing support
- Knowledge of additional Workday modules such as Benefits and Security
- Familiarity with Jira or similar ticketing and project management tools
- Experience supporting Total Rewards or compensation-focused programs
- Ability to recommend and implement AI-driven process improvements within HR technology environments
Pay Transparency
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $95.00 - $100.00 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
