Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create or approve all project-related billings to customers. Input customer billings in Intacct and Ariba Create project accounts in the accounting system. Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders. Coordinate with Project Team to reflect changes in project scope or timeline. Complete all postings, allocations, and accruals for projects. Review and approve supplier invoices related to specific projects. Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management. Confer with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings. Report on project profitability to management. Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects. Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers. Respond to requests for more detail from customers. Close out project accounts upon project completion. Experience and Requirements Education and Experience Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar business degree; or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years prior experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper. Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments. Strong communication skills. Key competencies are communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability. Construction accounting experience a plus. Knowledge of progress billings/AIA billings a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. Proven ability to form long lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with customers. Positive attitude that is conscientious, enthusiastic, articulate, and possesses a professional attitude to handle a fast-paced work environment. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers and work effectively as a team member.
