The Role TheClinical Laboratory Technicianis responsible forfollowing protocol guidelines for the preparation, collection,transferand storage of all specimens according to protocol requirements Monitors proper study sample collection Ensuresstudy data is collected to a high quality in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards Ensuressubject safety at all times Main Tasks and Responsibilities Reviews and understandsstudy protocols and laboratory sample handling/processing requirements prior to initiation of study Maintainsorganization and cleanliness ofwork space. Placessamples in a rack in numerical order by subject number for transfer into previously prepared andlabeledstorage vials Centrifugesblood samples according to the speed and duration of time as requested by the protocol Comparescollection tube and storage vial, ensuring that both tube and vial are correct, and pipettesplasma or serum into the correct storage vial prior to freezing orfurther processing Documents the time samples were placed in the centrifuge, the transfer of each specimen to a freezer vial and the time the samples were placed in the freezer onto theappropriate LaboratorySample Processing Record or in an electronic sample tracking system following GCP and GDP Verifiesthat allbiohazardous materials are disposed of in theappropriate biohazardcontainer and/or box, and that they are properlylabeledand placed in thebiohazardouswaste transport container for pickup Monitors laboratory fridges, freezers and centrifuges, documents temperature readings and confirms operating status and settings of the lab equipment as directed Cleans work surface areas and laboratory equipment as directed Assistsin taking inventory of lab supplies andmaintainingadequate supplies for each study Assistsin the review of protocol specimen processing requirements, andidentifyingthe quantity and availability of supplies needed toaccomplishspecimen collection Assistsin transferring and labelling all study documents in soft binders for archival per relevant SOPs Assists in any other duties as assigned Assistsin verifying that the lab requisitions for specimens sent to the outside labcontainsthe correct test(s), date and time of collection and other specimen identifiers (subject numbers, etc) Assistsin generating manifest for biological sample shipments, performing check of samples against the Shipping Manifestandthe Freezer Inventory/Shipping Record andassiststhe Senior Clinical Laboratory Technician during the entire shipment process as directed Assistin QC of all laboratory documents filed in Study Binder once the study is concluded Job Demands Very highconcentration of work Strict and tight deadlines Having to juggle a range of tasks/issues simultaneously Working in a hazardous environment with high requirement to follow safety procedures Working outside normal working hours Needing to respond to client demands The Candidate High School Diploma Minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory procedures Must be able to separate plasma andoperatelaboratory centrifuges Working knowledge of State of Florida OSHA guidelines Thorough in task completion - attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Basic Life Support (BLS) certified Application Requirements When applying for a position with Quotient Sciences to be able to work in our organization you must be aged 18 years or over and not have been debarred by the FDA.
