Responsibilities :

The Bruce and Deborah Downey Neuro Rehabilitation Center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center has an opportunity for a OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST to work with a team of highly skilled therapists.

Provides patient care including evaluating patient, developing plan of care, establishing goals, and assessing progress toward the attainment of goals.

Consults with other health care disciplines to coordinate treatment and discharge planning.

Plans and conducts therapeutic procedures and programs to maintain and / or restore patient's physical psychological intellectual and social capabilities.

Evaluates and assesses patient needs relative to gross motor coordination group behavior interpersonal relationships and proficiency in various recreation and leisure activities.

Coordinates and leads functional community reintegration sessions and aquatic therapy programs.

Expectations :

• Provides patient care, including evaluating the patient for treatment, providing and directing administration of the care plan upon the referral from the physician.
• Consults with other health care disciplines to coordinate therapeutic programs and discharge planning for individual patients.
• Instructs patients and caregivers in home program exercises and functional activities. Assists with patient program management, while delivering quality patient services.

Qualifications : Minimum :

Minimum :

• Completion of accredited therapeutic recreation clinical internship.
• Bachelor's Degree- BS in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy or relevant field.
• American Heart Association BLS.

Preferred :

• One to three years related experience.
• TRS certification.
