Overview :
The Surgical Operating Room Team Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily operations within the operating room to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. P rovides high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient / family experience; assists manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinates the purchasing and payroll processes; serves as a technical / clinical resource to team members; and performs work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor / assist staff. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team This role provides leadership and support to the surgical team, manages scheduling and workflow, and serves as a resource for clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities :
Coordinate surgical cases, staff assignments, and operating room schedules.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices for patient safety.
Support surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to ensure smooth case flow.
Monitor supply and equipment needs for surgical procedures.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for surgical team members.
Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work environment.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia OR CNOR certification required.
Minimum 1-2 years of operating room experience preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Schedule : Full-time, with flexibility based on surgical schedules.
