Job description

Swim Program Deckhand (Paid Training Provided)This Leadership position revolves around ensuring the quality and safety of our Learn-To-Swim Program from out of water. Deckhands operate as the liaisons between parents, instructors, admin, and supervisors: they are the ambassadors of ASA. Our Leadership Team is essential to our business, and we are looking for the right candidate that possesses leadership qualities, along with the drive and dedication to continuously improve the services we are providing for our customers.ResponsibilitiesTeaching and coaching all levels of our Swim Lesson programSupervising pools and other areas to ensure safety and progressMonitoring instructors and classesWorking closely with Swim Program ManagerCommunicating with parents and children in positive and encouraging mannerConducting shift meetings with staff as neededAdministering reports and paperwork as neededMaintaining 100% customer satisfactionRequirementsSwim background, LG and WSI are preferred, not required - we will certify internally.Effective communication skills; verbally and in writing while projecting a professional and positive image at all times.Confident leadership skillsPositive customer service skillsWeekend commitment of Saturday or SundayWorking EnvironmentPhysical Effort - Swim program staff must stand and/or remain in a pool for a significant period of time without a break. Additional physical efforts may include walking, climbing stairs, bending over, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing or pulling, lifting or carrying weighted items, repetitive use of hands, arms, legs, and hand/eye coordination. Mental Effort - Must be confident in working with families, children and co-workers. Must possess excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
