Job Overview
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our long-standing law firm in Newark, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a new or experienced attorney who wants direct client interaction, and meaningful mentorship in a supportive environment. You'll work closely with experienced attorneys across a variety of practice areas while developing the skills needed for a successful legal career. This includes litigation, probate, estate planning and real estate.
Duties
- Assist with legal research, drafting, and case preparation.
- Support litigation, transactional, or general practice matters depending on firm needs.
- Draft motions, pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Attend hearings, depositions, and client meetings with senior attorneys
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active Ohio bar admission or eligibility to sit for the bar exam
- Proven experience conducting legal research using LexisNexis.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise legal drafts and memoranda.
- Interest in developing a broad legal skill set.
