Job description

Electrical Technician (Infotainment / Telematics ECU Testing – InfoConn)Work Location: Palo Alto, CA (Onsite)Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support bench-level testing and validation of Infotainment and Telematics Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automotive electronics, ECU validation, electrical diagnostics, and laboratory test equipment. This role involves executing functional tests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting product quality and integration activities.Key Responsibilities:Perform bench-level testing of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs to validate functionality, quality, and system performance.Set up and maintain laboratory test benches, validation equipment, and test environments.Execute functional testing for infotainment features, including audio, connectivity, telematics, and user interface (UI) systems.Develop, execute, and document test cases, analyze test results, and report defects.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and log analyzers.Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit documentation.Perform low-level electrical measurements, signal analysis, and hardware validation.Support ECU flashing, configuration, integration, and firmware validation activities.Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Quality Assurance, and Validation teams to resolve technical issues.Maintain accurate test logs, reports, and documentation while ensuring compliance with quality standards.Support regression testing and validation for new software releases, feature updates, and hardware revisions.Required Skills:Hands-on experience with bench-level testing of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs.Strong understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems.Experience using laboratory equipment, including: OscilloscopeDigital MultimeterPower SuppliesSignal/Log AnalyzersAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.Experience with ECU flashing, configuration, and validation.Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.Excellent documentation and reporting abilities.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Preferred Skills:Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing environments.Hands-on experience with: CANoeCANalyzerCAPL scriptingKnowledge of PCBA validation, ECU hardware testing, and board-level debugging.Experience validating Infotainment UI/UX, audio/video systems, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and telematics features.Basic scripting or automation experience using Python or similar tools.Familiarity with automotive quality standards, validation processes, and industry best practices.All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
