Director Of Campus Accounting

The Director of Campus Accounting is responsible for overseeing and directing the operation of the Campus Accounting Department which includes: financial statements reporting; various audits; general ledger accounting; fund accounting; procard card, and other electronic funds reconciliations; and internal controls and compliance.
The Director is responsible for ensuring campus compliance with generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") and is responsible for the interpretation and application of the University's financial policies and procedures. The Director is the principal accounting liaison for all campus accounting activities, including overseeing the completion of the monthly and year-end financial close process and preparation of campus financial statements, supporting schedules and analyses.
The Director must possess quality management and leadership skills that will assist the staff to accomplish objectives and direct the department in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. The Director must be able to handle complex personnel issues that may arise and the ability to communicate effectively and discipline when necessary.
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Master degree in Accounting or MBA is desirable. Minimum eight to ten years progressive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and audit. Experience to include a complex higher educational institution or not-for-profit organization and staff supervision. Experience in other organizations of similar size and complexity may be substituted. CPA required. Excellent analytical and written & oral communication skills required, as well as attention to detail.
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $103,723.00 - $202,778.93. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
