Field Sales - Technical Training Coordinator

As the Technical Training Coordinator for Field Sales, your primary responsibilities will be to coordinate the onboarding and training of the outside sales team, and continually access and provide training content to the branch outside sales team.
This also includes coordinating and presenting content for sales boot camps and meetings, sales classes and pod meeting presentations.
Other responsibilities include traveling with sales reps in the field to help assess training gaps and needs.
This role provides support to the sales team by providing available tools, presentations and merchandising pieces, and assisting in presentations in-person and virtually.
The Technical Training Coordinator - Field Sales also handles our Employee LMS (My Workbench) for the Field Sales team, running reports, and helping employees navigate the system, with support from Home Office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Design, develop and deliver sales training content to sales team, including at Onboarding and new sales hire trainings. Coordinate Columbus sales training events and sales meetings and assist with sales training events at other branches (boot camps), including annual International Sales Meeting.
Assign attendees to various training opportunities and with sales pods to help with training content at pod meetings. (30%)
Travel with sales reps to identify training needs and provide sales training skills to sales team. Work with sales managers to help identify gaps and strategies to improve product, industry, and sales trainings.
Assist in planning sales rep shadowing sessions at the branch. (25%)
Work with sales managers and training managers to survey and identify training needs among the sales team. This will include surveys and discussions with sales managers and pod captains.
Work with training manager and home office training department to obtain training content for sales team members. (15%)
Coordinate onboarding of new sales rep hires. (10%)
Managing the Employee LMS (My Workbench) for Field Sales. This includes fielding employee questions or login issues. Help run reports and communicate past due courses to sales managers. (10%)
Special projects assigned by Branch Training Manager or Branch Manager. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too :
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, preferred.
- 5 years' experience in construction industry products and services, required.
- 5 years' experience with Simpson Strong-Tie sales, required.
- 2 years' experience in a training position with focus on curriculum development and implementation or management, preferred.
- Industry / Product Knowledge - understanding of construction industry, LMS, job specific training modules is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of corporate training techniques.
- Excellent presentation skills to present and handle training programs effectively. Ability to teach material to an audience in virtual or in-person settings.
- Communication : Clearly exchanges thoughts, ideas and messages through written, verbal and non-verbal methods that promote an understanding with the target audience.
Listens carefully and attentively. Able to effectively present to varying levels of the organization.

- Occasionally prolonged standing and sitting, will be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers / scanners, etc.
The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This job requires 50% domestic travel.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, exempt position is located in Northeast USA, and reports to the Columbus, OH branch.
RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.
$63,500 - $82,500 / year
