Job description

Keep Critical Manufacturing Equipment Running

Founded in 1957, Hialeah Metal Spinning (HMS) is a family-owned precision manufacturer serving aerospace,

defense, industrial, transportation, and commercial customers. Our capabilities include advanced CNC/PNC metal

spinning, deep drawing, fabrication, CNC machining, laser processing, and complex metal-forming operations. HMS

operates in an AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality environment and is ITAR registered.

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving

critical manufacturing equipment and facility systems throughout HMS. This is a hands-on position requiring strong

mechanical and electrical abilities, disciplined troubleshooting, and the communication skills to work directly with

equipment manufacturers, outside service technicians, and internal production teams. The role directly affects

production uptime, safety, quality, and customer deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

 Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on production equipment and facility systems.

 Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, motor, sensor, and industrial-control problems.

 Maintain and support CNC metal-spinning machines, CNC lathes/turning centers, laser cutting equipment, laser

welding systems, hydraulic presses, chillers, compressors, and related facility equipment.

 Diagnose breakdowns under production conditions and establish practical repair priorities to minimize downtime.

 Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and OEM troubleshooting documentation.

 Communicate clearly with OEM technical support, vendors, integrators, and outside service technicians.

 Support equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, wiring, mechanical modifications, and continuous-

improvement projects.

 Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair histories, spare-parts information, and preventive-maintenance

schedules.

 Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions that improve equipment reliability.

 Follow lockout/tagout, electrical safety, machine-safety, and HMS safety requirements.

 Coordinate closely with Operations and Production so that repairs are performed safely and with minimal

disruption.

What You Bring

 3+ years of industrial maintenance, electromechanical, machine-repair, field-service, or comparable

manufacturing-equipment experience preferred.

 Strong mechanical aptitude and practical industrial troubleshooting skills.

 Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and safe electrical troubleshooting practices.

 Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

 Experience troubleshooting machinery while supporting active production operations.

 Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, relays/contactors, and industrial controls.

 Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both operators and OEM/service

personnel.

 Strong English speaking and writing ability for technical support, documentation, and safety communication.

 Ability to prioritize multiple equipment issues based on safety and production needs.

 Self-directed, dependable, organized, and willing to learn unfamiliar equipment.

Preferred / Bonus Experience

Hialeah Metal Spinning, Inc. | 8155 West 20th Avenue | Hialeah, Florida 33014

 Experience with CNC machinery, metal-forming equipment, laser systems, hydraulic presses, chillers, and air

compressors.

 Experience with PLCs and controls such as Beckhoff, Fanuc, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi.

 Industrial electrician, mechatronics, millwright, field-service, or similar technical background.

 Experience working directly with machine-tool OEMs and remote technical-support teams.

 Spanish language skills.

What HMS Offers

 Competitive compensation based on experience and demonstrated skill level.

 Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.

 Paid vacation and holidays.

 401(k) with company match and performance-based bonus opportunities.

 Overtime opportunities based on production needs.

 A stable, family-owned manufacturing environment with opportunities to learn, grow, and advance.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

 Hands-on work in a manufacturing environment that is generally not air-conditioned and may include heat,

humidity, noise, fumes, airborne particles, and moving machinery.

 Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work safely around industrial equipment for extended periods.

 Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds when required, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified

individuals.

 Safety glasses and appropriate safety footwear/PPE are required.

The Ideal Candidate

You are the person people call when equipment goes down. You enjoy diagnosing difficult problems rather than

simply replacing parts, communicate well with operators and outside technical support, work safely, and take pride in

restoring equipment quickly and correctly.

How to Apply

Please send your resume to hr@hmsmfg.us. Qualified out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply; relocation

assistance may be considered for highly experienced candidates.
