Job Opportunity At Stanford Health Care

Join a dynamic Digestive Health GI clinic supporting a high-volume practice with multiple providers, advanced procedures, and complex patient populations. This role blends front desk responsibilities, clinical support, and patient coordination, ensuring smooth clinic flow and excellent patient experience.

Required Experience & Qualifications :

  • Medical Assistant certification required (CMC, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic setting.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Technical & Clinical Skills :

  • Proficient in Epic for scheduling, charting, documentation, inbox work, referrals, orders, and patient messaging.
  • Skilled in patient rooming, including : vital signs, medication reconciliation, intake and triage workflows.
  • Ability to perform EKGs, administer vaccinations, assist with specimen collection, and support basic GI-related prep tasks.
  • Comfortable assisting with clinic equipment setup and maintaining exam room readiness.
  • Front Desk & Workflow Support :

  • Provides full-spectrum front desk coverage, including patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling and template awareness, insurance verification and authorization support, phone triage and patient communication.
  • Supports smooth clinic operations by coordinating with RNs, APPs, providers, and fellow PCCs.

  • Education Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND one of the following : (1) Certificate of completion or official transcript from a medical assisting program, (2) Completion of medical assistant training by a licensed physician or podiatrist, (3) Certification as medical assistant through a Medical Board of California approved medical assistant certifying organization.
  • Experience Qualifications :

  • Entry Level No previous experience required.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of and ability to use and apply medical terminology in performing his / her duties.
  • Knowledge of coding and billing regulations.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
  • Ability to solve problems and identify solutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the patient care team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated familiarity, knowledge and understanding of home health, practice care coordination, clinical care skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate business communication skills including speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job (including legible penmanship / handwriting, knowledge of grammar and syntax and ability to write clear and concise clinical reports).
  • Ability to learn and grasp and update clinical knowledge on a regular basis (through HealthStream classes, continuing education and other work related courses and training) to adapt to an ever changing healthcare environment.
  • Ability to learn and understand population health and disease population concepts and practices; inventory methods and practices; motivation learning; customer relationships service concepts and practices.
  • Licenses and Certifications :

  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.

    Base Pay Scale : Generally starting at $31.94 - $35.94 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
