Our client is hiring an Interim CFO who will serve as the senior-most finance leader, stepping in to guide and oversee all financial operations during a transitional period. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, mentoring the newly promoted Controller, and providing strategic financial leadership to the Executive Team and Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of accounting and finance, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Oversee annual audit, tax filings, and compliance with grant requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports
- Act as a mentor to the newly promoted Controller, providing guidance, coaching, and development support
- Help build her capacity to assume the CFO role in the future
Strategic & Board Engagement
Represent Finance at monthly Finance Committee meetingsPresent financial performance and key insights at monthly Board meetingsCollaborate with senior leadership to support strategic planning and resource allocationRequired Qualifications
Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior financial leader in a non‑profit or mission‑driven organizationStrong technical accounting background; CPA preferredDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop finance staffExcellent communication skills, especially in presenting financials to non‑financial stakeholdersExperience with grants management and nonprofit compliance a plusSeniority Level
