Service Technician
Job Summary :
Repairs, services andmaintains engine driven Generators and electric welding machines and ensures asafe working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance required.
- Orders parts as required in order to complete repairs. - Inspects returnedequipment for proper operation and / or damage by the customer.
- Ensuresclean and organized work environment at all times. - Prepares and completespaperwork for all machine repairs, - Occasionally required to service equipmentand customers off-site.
- Maintains communication with all branch personnel. -Occasionally advises customers regarding best equipment for their projects.
- Performs troubleshooting of machines, calibrations on-site and off-site. - Knowledgeof computers, welding process, equipment set-up, welding gases, welding wires -Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills : LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to readand comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. -Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively tocustomers, clients, vendors, managers and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inall units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, anddecimals.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problemsand deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limitedstandardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATIONand / or EXPERIENCE - Post secondary education equivalent to a one year TechnicalCollege or equivalent is an asset.
- Three years of related technicalexperience. - Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applicationand equipment is an asset.
- Ability to make critical decisions while followingcompany procedures. - Ability to act proactively or find a solution with work-relatedproblems.
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers andco-workers. - Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities andbackgrounds. - Communicates with clarity, verbally in one on one or groupsituations, and over the telephone.
