Summary :

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services. This position encompasses a range of routine and advanced imaging procedures while offering support to fellow imaging technologists. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, able to work varying shifts, and may be called upon to assist at different campuses. Essential responsibilities include troubleshooting basic maintenance, engaging in quality assurance activities, and resolving image processing issues. Continuous education and adherence to safety protocols are vital. Technologists will also ensure compliance with imaging competencies and consistently uphold radiation safety standards while managing radionuclides and pharmaceuticals. Daily logs and periodic tests are essential aspects of this role, with emphasis on communication and behavior that reflects the organization's values and mission.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain professionalism, including behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, and confidentiality.
  • Support staff development and engagement through collaboration with colleagues and management.
  • Enhance physician satisfaction by effectively assisting radiologists and referring physicians.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards at all times.
  • Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet diverse needs of every patient.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and care standards.
  • Conduct examinations and procedures to facilitate efficient patient throughput.
  • Exhibit flexibility by covering various shifts and locations as required.
  • Ensure proper storage of completed exams in PACS.
  • Act as a PACS Superuser, following downtime procedures and reporting issues as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report to the Director / Manager and Biomedical personnel.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Requirements : Education / Skills

  • Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent.
  • Experience

  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB is required.
  • State Licensure must be obtained.
  • Texas MRT by TMB.
  • In Louisiana, LRT (N) or (F) by LSRTBE.
  • In New Mexico, NMT by MIRTP NMED.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Work Schedule : PRN

    Work Type : Per Diem As Needed.
