Basic Function
Applicant is a recognized expert in hydrogen, fuel cell, and battery technologies relevant for transportation and will propose and lead research related to them, ultimately providing strategic insight to company stakeholders and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Strong data analysis, data visualization, and communication skills are required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead research activities developing life-cycle models and techno-economic models for assessing key attributes such as cost, properties, etc.
for H2, H2 carriers, fuel cell, and batteries used in the transportation sector
- Understand existing and potentially disruptive H2 technologies, fuel cell technologies, battery chemistries, and system architectures..
- Understand the global H2, fuel-cell, and battery supply chains
- Participate in various strategic transportation studies aimed at understanding the interplay between future vehicle, engine, and fuel technologies and global energy demand / supply landscape
- Provide consultations to senior management on research strategies and plans in the transportation area
- Foster professional relationships with local and international research institutions and industrial partners
- Organize technical meetings and conferences as required
- Submit patents, make presentations, and publish technical papers in peer-reviewed journals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
B.S. Degree in Science / Engineering / Physics / Mathematics Discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for the assigned jobs;
M.S. Degree in Science / Engineering / Physics / Mathematics / Economics discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for an assigned job. Ph.D. preferred
- Seven years (7) experience in a substantive industrial, technological or laboratory area relevant to the job assignment
- Proven competence in employing life-cycle analysis and techno-economic analysis for strategic transportation studies
- Knowledge in H2 production and storage, fuel-cell and / or battery chemistries and components
- Knowledge in alternative fuel vehicle technologies, such as FCV, BEV, etc.
- Understanding of vehicle powertrain, engine, and fuel technology development trends
- Expert competence in data analysis, such as with Python or Matlab, data visualization such as Tableau, and full proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Candidate should be comfortable working independently and / or part of a project team
- Communication skills in front of audiences; frequent project presentation and travel to meetings at conferences and universities will be required
- Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
- Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
