Med / Surg RN Job Details – Jackson, TN

  • Job Title : Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
  • Location : Jackson, TN 38301 (West Tennessee healthcare jobs)
  • Employment Type : Travel Nursing, On-Site
  • Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3x12 per week)
  • Weekly Hours : 36
  • Assignment Length : 13-week contract
  • Start Date : November 3, 2025

  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680–$1800

    • Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
  • BLS Certification (required before first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a hospital setting; 2 years preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and direct LPNs, CNAs, and orientees

    • Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients following individualized care plans
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
  • Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and patient care planning
  • Coordinate discharge planning and deliver patient / family education
  • Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety protocols
  • Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff
  • Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members
  • Support team building and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Assume charge nurse duties as needed after orientation
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
