Scouting America is seeking a National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Program Manager to support the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) within the Alumni Engagement Department. The National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Program Manager will oversee programmatic and administrative functions, ensuring the success of membership programs, recognition initiatives, and volunteer committee support. This role is central to advancing Scouting America's national Alumni Engagement Strategy by strengthening NESA membership, elevating recognition programs, and delivering high-quality alumni communications and services. The Program Manager ensures excellent service to Eagle Scout alumni nationwide while advancing Scouting America's national Alumni Engagement Strategy. This position reports to the Director, Alumni and National Eagle Scout Association.
Responsibilities
- Oversees day-to-day operations of the NESA membership program, including onboarding, renewals, tiered membership benefits, and recognition.
- Tracks membership growth KPIs and prepare regular reports for leadership.
- Administers online and offline NESA events, including webinars, recognition ceremonies, and council support activities.
- Manages the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award (DESA) nomination and selection process, providing administrative support to committees and ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Supports other NESA recognition programs (e.g., Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, service awards).
- Maintains archives and communications related to Eagle recognition.
- Provides direct staff support to the National NESA Committee and working groups.
- Liaises with local councils to strengthen NESA committees, promote toolkits, and highlight best practices.
- Responds to inquiries from councils, volunteers, and members with professionalism and efficiency.
- Contributes to the development of the NESA digital magazine and newsletters, including sourcing stories, editing, and publishing.
- Partners with the Alumni Marketing / MarComms team on digital campaigns, social media storytelling, and member communications.
- Ensures consistent branding and messaging in NESA communications.
- Maintains accurate records of Eagle Scouts and NESA members in CRM systems.
- Partners with IT and Alumni leadership on data hygiene, segmentation, and reporting.
- Supports automated email journey builds and membership-related system enhancements.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Competencies
Knowledge of : Scouting America programs, especially Eagle Scout requirements and recognition; Alumni / membership program management and nonprofit engagement; digital platforms and CRM systems for membership and alumni management.Skill in : Managing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail; communicating effectively in writing and verbally with staff, volunteers, and alumni; coordinating award processes and recognition events with diplomacy; data accuracy, reporting, and digital engagement.Ability toSupport and collaborate with volunteer boards and committees; handle confidential information with discretion; innovate and problem-solve in resource-conscious settings; deliver consistent, professional service to alumni and councils.
Qualifications
Minimum three (3) years of experience in alumni relations, program management, or membership services.Experience working with volunteers and boards.Proficiency with alumni / digital platforms (e.g., 360Alumni, Almabase, Hivebrite, or similar).Strong CRM / data management experience.Must pass a criminal history background check.Ability to travel up to 10–15% to support national or council events.Preference
Eagle Scout (preferred).
