Strategic Account Executive

As a Strategic Account Executive, you will be responsible for providing complete service and benefit management of True Group clients (>
100 lives). This includes serving as a liaison between the client, the firm, and the carriers. The Strategic Account Executive will assist the client in developing a comprehensive plan for current and future needs.
Your job responsibilities as a Strategic Account Executive :
- Maintains technical expertise in the group insurance industry and working knowledge of various funding methods, state and federal legislation, insurance products, self-insurance programs, and Section 125 plans and maintains the ability to evaluate provider networks.
- Maintains a current, working knowledge of the business organization of the assigned clients.
- Proactively seeks to provide options that best meet the client's business objectives and periodically performs a complete client analysis.
- Organizes and directs client management services by organizing regular meetings for purposes of benefit plan review and renewal, assists with guiding and directing the Account Manager and Financial Analyst assigned to the case, resolving questions, and reviewing and work.
- Attends mid-year or quarterly meetings with client to review plan designs, rate history, claims experience, discuss client concerns and introduce new plan ideas.
- Reviews the initial renewal request from the carrier and obtains client agreement if it is necessary to bid the case; directs the bidding process and prepares, or reviews and approves, the final report and presents a renewal or bid report to the client using professional sales techniques.
- Negotiates on behalf of the client for the best price contract with the carrier; and reviews the commission structure to determine if negotiations on behalf of the firm should also be conducted.
- Plans an employee communication strategy with the client, working with the Account Manager in the preparation of communication materials, reviews and approves appropriate employee communication material to be used by the client, and delivers material to the client. Conducts employee meetings and / or webinars as needed.
- Provides overall coordination of program changes and ensures due diligence is performed so that no insured individual loses coverage.
- Serves as a point of contact for receipt of client and carrier inquiries (e.g., procedural matters, legislative / compliance, claim issues, plan provisions, etc.) through a variety of channels (e.g., phone, email, etc.) and provides a response to the inquiry in a timely manner ensuring accuracy.
- Reviews plan documents (master application, master policy, summary plan description, administrative services agreement, etc.) ensuring information is complete and free of errors, and provides direction to carriers in the event additional information is required.
- Works with clients and carriers to ensure the plan implementation paperwork and enrollment process for renewals and / or carrier changes is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinates and researches client ERISA and other legislative plan requirements. Works with Project Analyst in preparation of Form 5500 filings on client welfare benefit plans and instructs client on filing procedures and guidelines.
- Provides analytical support to the Senior Consultant to meet the data and reporting needs of the firm's clients. This includes assistance in developing routine client reports for a variety of purposes, including renewal information, renewal history, mid-year planning, stewardship, monthly or quarterly utilization and claims analysis, etc.
- Assists with creation of custom reports as needed to respond to client inquiries. This includes plan cost variances, plan change analysis, claim history, claim projections, etc. and assists with complex analysis of data when required.
- Assists with preparation of renewal information, which includes plan data, census, renewal history; and receipt of renewal rates from the carrier, including any plan alternates, and ensuring commission schedules are correct.
- Assists with creation of bid specifications for carrier proposal requests, receipt of proposals from carriers, and preparation of analysis of the proposal results.
- Creates an atmosphere of high morale, strict ethics, and a winning attitude by maintaining high standards of integrity and work quality; building pride in the firm; being enthusiastic, service oriented, and courteous when dealing with clients, carriers, or other associates; and maintaining confidentiality of client and firm information.
- Participates in community professional or civic organizations as requested. Develops a highly professional and ethical reputation in the community.
- Responds to requests for information, reports, or research needed by other departments or firm management.
- Serves on management-related committees as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in benefits brokerage, insurance or employee benefits customer service, account administration, or a related field preferredAn equivalent combination of education and / or relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of minimum qualificationsState life and health insurance license, or ability to obtain, requiredProfessional designation through CEBS or HIA preferredStrong knowledge of employee benefits and the group insurance industry, including underwriting principles, carrier processes, and benefit funding strategiesProven experience managing complex client relationships and delivering strategic benefit solutions in a consultative or client-facing environmentWorking knowledge of sales and marketing principles in the context of benefits consulting or brokerageAbility to interpret and apply benefit-related regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA) and stay current with industry trends and legislative updatesDemonstrated success leading client meetings, delivering benefit presentations, and influencing strategic decisions across diverse stakeholder groupsProficiency with data analysis related to premiums, claims, and plan performance; comfort with applying basic algebra and interpreting financial metricsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex benefit information clearly and persuasively.Highly collaborative team player with a strong sense of accountability, adaptability, and customer service orientationStrong technology skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and leverage technology for productivity and client engagementWhat makes us different than all the rest?
