Gentiva Hospice-Joplin, MO is seeking Companionship Visitor Volunteers to serve in Webb City, MO :

Gentiva Hospice offers volunteer opportunities for caring individuals who wish to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. Here are some ways you can serve as a visitor volunteer :

• Companionship : Spending time with patients by offering a smile, holding their hand, sharing stories, listening, reading, or singing.
• Care Giver Respite : Offering scheduled breaks for caregivers, allowing them to rest, manage personal tasks, or simply recharge.
• Veteran-to-Veteran Support : If you are a Veteran, you can support fellow service members during their end-of-life journey.

As a Companionship Visitor Volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do. Volunteers have flexibility; the opportunities may be once monthly to once weekly depending on your availability.

Our patients reside in private homes, local nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities. Some examples of typical volunteer duties are :
