With offices across North Carolina, our William Penn Plaza office is seeking a motivated Regional Controller to join the team. The Regional Controller is responsible for performing or assisting with all accounting functions under the supervision / direction of the CFO and Regional Executive Director to include monthly reconciliations, accounts receivable management (along with the virtual business office director (VBO)), accounts payable, general ledger, employee payroll, routine bonus calculation oversight, financial analysis and other duties as assigned. This individual will be very skilled in reporting / financial analysis / strategic pro-formas as well as being proficient with current accounting software tools. This individual will also prepare financial and statistical reports as well as act as a point of contact for outside vendors (accountants, relevant vendors). The expectation is that this individual’s work ethic will support effective and timely completion of all work.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Accounting or equivalent. Master’s preferred.CPA or CMA preferred Demonstrated success in the followingAdvanced working knowledge of the following computer software : Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Great Plains preferred, Excel, Outlook, UKG / KronosMinimum of three years professional experience in a G / L Accountant / Accounting Manager / Controller role to include : payroll processing, general ledger, and accounts payableStrong written and verbal communication and customer service skillsMust have ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks under stress with frequent interruptions. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for all company accountsCreates and inputs GL entries and reconciles and balances GL accounts on a monthly basis according to Emerge company policies and proceduresMaintains files on Emerge corporate credit cards for payment processing and reconciles accounts bi-monthlyReconciles daily deposits recorded in Great Plains to the payments posted in the practice management systemReviews payment and coding of accounts payable invoices for payroll items, CEU expenses, expense reimbursements and company payables, ensuring they have been approved properly by the appropriate manager / provider and paid in timely manner with reasonable discounts takenEnsures that required debt payments are made on a timely basisMaintains Chart of AccountsSupervises, coaches, and provides direction regarding day-to-day accounting functions for G / L Accountants and A / P clerks according to company policies and accounting best practicesMaintains vendor files and acts as point of contact for various office vendorsCompletes all payroll functions to include preparing and submitting regional payrollPrepares and files monthly Use TaxProcesses 1099s at year end to appropriate vendorsGuides financial decisions by collaboratively establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and proceduresProtects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controlsMonitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditorsDevelops and recommends the operating and capital needs for the region. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met. Monitors expenditures for compliance to approved plans and resolves discrepanciesCorrespond with vendors contracted by EmergeOrtho, banking relationships and insurance partners, when necessaryReporting
Prepares monthly financial and productivity reports along with quarterly (or other) financial reportsIssues timely and complete financial statementsCoordinates the preparation of the corporate annual reportRecommends and collaboratively prepares and analyzes benchmarking reports against which to measure the performance of company operationsCalculates and issues financial and operating metricsManages the production of the annual budget and forecastsCalculates variances from the forecast and reports significant issues to managementProvides financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiationsMaintains General Ledger and annual reporting / tax filings for external LLCs affiliated with Emerge as needed including Surgery CenterCompliance
Coordinates the provision of information to external auditorsMonitors debt levels and compliance with debt covenantsManage legal aspects of corporation; correspond regularly with company attorney; minimize and ultimately strive to eliminate all liability concernsComplies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsMaintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by EmergeOther
Follows all applicable Emerge regional and Emerge corporate policies and proceduresMaintains detailed knowledge of computer software as it relates to job functionAttends all regularly scheduled meetings and ad hoc meetings, as needed and / or requested.
