We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Purchasing Specialist to take the lead on company-wide purchasing activities, centralize processes, and help shape our procurement strategy as we continue to grow.
This role requires a professional who is both tactical and strategic — someone who can dive into the details of day-to-day buying while also contributing to the bigger-picture strategy and process development. It’s currently a non-management role, but has the potential to evolve as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all buying and sourcing activities to support contract manufacturing operations, including machining, stamping, and fabrication.
- Manage purchasing of raw materials (metal sheet, bar, coil stock), components, tooling, and VMI programs.
- Monitor, manage, and reconcile inventory levels and transactions for accuracy, while implementing proactive and responsible purchasing practices.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and develop relationships focused on quality, accountability, cost reduction, and contract negotiation.
- Analyze steel and metal market trends and internal demand to support sales and operations planning.
- Develop and maintain accurate purchasing and payment records.
- Lead discrepancy resolution in partnership with operations and accounting.
- Support general purchasing needs across the organization, including office supplies and miscellaneous request
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of progressive experience in metals procurement or a similar role.Demonstrated experience centralizing purchasing functions and improving best practices.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a collaborative mindset.Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through and organizational skills.Strong analytical and numerical aptitude for evaluating data and improving processes.Solid working knowledge of ERP systems and comfortable working in technology-driven environments.Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting an ERP implementation (Epicor experience a plus).BS / BA degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business preferred.CSCP, CPIM, or other APICS certifications.Prior experience in contract manufacturing or metals industry purchasing roles.Why You’ll Love It Here
