Qualcomm is looking for an experienced High Speed Interfaces SOC Architect to work on the next generation AI products in the datacenter.
We are looking for a High Speed Interfaces data center engineer whose expertise spans across PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, Unified Accelerator Link (UAL), Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) and Non-volatile Memory Express (NVMe) standards
The selected candidate will help define the architecture and drive requirements from card / server level to a full rack.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
- PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
Responsibilities
Understand trends in High Speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet and Die-to-Die (D2D) interconnectivity.Propose data flow models and work with Software, Firmware and SOC design teams in achieving high bandwidth and low latency for end-to-end data transfersVery good understanding of various Layers, such as Physical, Link, Transaction and Protocol layer of High Speed interfaces,Work with Software, SOC Design teams and Card design teams in realizing the connectivity for AI Scale Up and Scale Out deploymentsArchitect enhancements required for deployment of next-generation AI productsRequirements
Deep knowledge and experience with high-performance design of PCIe and / or Ethernet interfaces.10+ years HW design, testing and commercialization experience3+ years of experience of working in datacenter related products - servers, accelerators etc.In-depth understanding of Ordering models for PCIe , ARM and High speed Serial interfacesVery good understanding or Error scenarios, such as PCIe-AER, PCIE-DPC.Very good understanding of IO Virtualization , such as PCIe-SRIOVGood knowledge of scale-up and scale-out architecturesVery good understanding of DMA enginesWillingness to work in a high-caliber international / multi-site teamPreferred Skills And Experience
Very good understanding of PCIE Gen6 / Gen7 requirementsVery good understanding of Integrity and Data Encryption such as PCIE-IDE, PCIE-SIOV, PCIE-TDISPVery Good knowledge of Ethernet protocols with emphasis on error recovery and virtualizationVery good understanding of various PCIE-CEM standards for PCIE Card deploymentsGood understanding of new AI standards such as UCIe, UAL and UECGood understanding of PCIE Firmware and System Software requirementsGood understanding of High Speed Serdes such as PCIE PHY and Ethernet PHYGood knowledge of server SOC architectures focusing on security, RAS and virtualizationAbility to work with Customer, Product Management and gather requirementsQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
