We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to lead our clinical team and uphold our commitment to excellence in long-term and post-acute care.
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing Services (DNS) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of nursing care within the facility. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of resident care, and creating a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department and ensure delivery of the highest quality resident care.
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff to achieve professional excellence and retention goals.
Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and best practices.
Monitor care plans, assessments, and documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to promote optimal outcomes.
Lead quality assurance, infection control, and performance improvement initiatives.
Manage nursing budgets, staffing levels, and scheduling effectively.
Serve as a role model for compassionate, resident-centered care.
Qualifications
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s preferred .
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility (required).
Strong knowledge of DOH regulations, MDS, care planning, and survey readiness .
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven track record of improving quality metrics and staff performance.
