Description

  • Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as air compressors, generators, motors, and turbines to provide heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning for buildings and industrial processes.
  • Reads meters and gages or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. Records data, such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance.
  • Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to back-up equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment.
  • Inspects and maintains equipment.
  • Applies skills in operating and maintaining chillers, air compressors and all associated pumps, piping, pressure vessels and cooling towers.

Familiarity with automated control and monitoring systems.

Experience working with a team or alone such as an out-of-hours response situation.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires 5 years of related experience.
  • Required to hold applicable license / certification (i.e. HVAC, HVAC / R, EPA, etc.)

Clearance :

No clearance required to start work, but candidate must have the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.
